Knowing what a lender expects makes a coach loan far simpler to arrange. Here are the common requirements for ABN-holding operators applying through Overdrive and our panel of 80+ lenders.
What do you need for a coach loan?
At a minimum, eligible applicants provide a valid ABN, identification and details of the coach being financed. Lenders will confirm you are trading and assess how the vehicle fits your operation. Many established operators can be considered with limited paperwork under low-doc arrangements.
What supporting documents are needed?
Depending on the lender and loan size, you may be asked for bank statements, business financials or evidence of contract income such as charter or school work. GST registration can help for higher-value purchases. Property ownership or an existing asset base can also strengthen an application, subject to lender criteria.
How do vehicle and term affect approval?
The coach's age, kilometres and condition all factor in, as does your chosen term, deposit and any balloon. Newer vehicles generally attract the widest range of options. Any depreciation or GST treatment linked to the loan should be confirmed with your accountant or registered tax adviser.
