Overdrive Funding helps Australian farmers access competitive vehicle finance. We compare 80+ banks and specialist lenders, negotiate the deal and manage everything from start to finish — new or used, from dealers, private sellers or auctions anywhere in Australia.
A farm ute lives a hard life — paddocks, gravel, stock work, towing, and often 200 kilometres from the nearest dealer. Durability and parts availability matter more here than trim level, which is why the same handful of vehicles dominate rural Australia.
What farmers finance
- LandCruiser 79 Series and 70 Series cab chassis
- HiLux, Ranger, D-Max and Triton in 4x4
- Utes with trays, stock crates, spray tanks and fire units
- Side-by-sides, ATVs and farm bikes
- Property vehicles, troop carriers and personnel transport
- New, used, ex-fleet, dealer, private-sale, clearing sale and auction purchases
We only finance vehicles located in Australia. See our business vehicle finance page for the full range, rates and how approvals work.
Structure repayments around when income arrives
Farm income arrives in lumps — after harvest, after a sale — while vehicle repayments fall due monthly regardless. Some lenders will structure seasonal or annual repayments aligned to when you actually get paid. This matters more in agriculture than almost any other industry, and it is worth asking for specifically rather than accepting a standard monthly schedule.
Remote parts access is a real factor
It is not a coincidence that rural Australia runs on Toyotas and Isuzus. If you are three hours from the nearest dealer, a vehicle you can get parts for locally is worth more than a better-equipped one you cannot. That same logic affects resale, and therefore your finance — a vehicle with strong rural demand is easier security for a lender. Farm machinery is financed separately; see our farm equipment finance guide.
