The fit-out is the business
A full mobile mechanic fit-out — service body, compressor, generator, drawers, onboard air and power — can run $25,000 to $50,000 on top of the vehicle. Where it is fitted at purchase and invoiced together it can generally be financed in the same facility, which is far better than putting it on a credit card or draining working capital.
A specialised vehicle has a narrower resale pool
Worth going in clear-eyed: a heavily fitted-out service vehicle sells to fewer buyers than a plain van. That is not a reason to avoid the fit-out — it is what makes you money — but some lenders account for it in the rate or deposit, and it is a reason to compare lenders rather than take the first quote.
